Batesville, IN (November 14, 2025) – The Batesville Food Pantry has been awarded multiple grants through the Ripley County Community Foundation to support ongoing operational expenses. The Food Pantry received grants through the following funds:
The Brinkmoeller (Pat & George) Family Fund
The Todd & Diane Rynn Fund
The Giesting Financial Charitable Giving Fund
An anonymous donor
Director Kendra Basler shared, “The Batesville Food Pantry is so grateful for the support of the Ripley County Community Foundation and the families and organizations that established these funds. To receive the grantsis a huge blessing! October 2025 was the busiest month on record for the Batesville Food Pantry and the Wednesday distributions in November are outpacing those of the prior month”
So far in 2025, the pantry has been able to serve an average of 220 families each month, representing over 800 individuals who are helped monthly by the items provided by the Batesville Food Pantry. A growing number of first-time visitors further underscores the increasing demand for food assistance in the community.
During November and December, the pantry distributes special Holiday Boxes in addition to the regular food allotments. These boxes include traditional Thanksgiving and Christmas meal items. Rising food prices and higher demand have increased the cost of operations, especially during the holiday season. The pantry is deeply grateful to the Ripley County Community Foundation and other supporters for helping meet these growing needs.
The Batesville Food Pantry is open every Wednesday from 12:00 to 4:00 PM, except during holiday or weather-related closures. Please note that the pantry will be closed on November 26 and December 24, 2025. Evening hours are also offered from 4:30 to 6:30 PM on the fourth Tuesday of each month.
Community members and businesses interested in supporting the pantry are encouraged to make financial contributions before the end of the year. Donations can be mailed to: Batesville Food Pantry, P.O. Box 383, Batesville, IN 47006 or submitted online via the “Donate” button.
Non-perishable food donations can be dropped off at collection boxes outside the Food Pantry, St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, or St. Louis Catholic Church at any time.
The Batesville Food Pantry operates as a ministry of the Batesville Area Ministerial Association (BAMA), a fellowship of Christian churches serving the Batesville and Oldenburg communities. BAMA provides financial support, volunteers, and emergency assistance to residents in need.
