HISTORY & MISSION.

The Batesville Food Pantry is a ministry of the Batesville Area Ministerial Association (BAMA). This association is a composite of Christian churches in the Batesville and Oldenburg areas. BAMA has provided financial assistance and volunteer support for the Batesville Food Pantry for over 20 years.

Since its founding, the Batesville Food Pantry has grown and expanded and now fills part of the building that once served our community as a grocery store.

Currently, the Batesville Food Pantry partners with the Gleaners Food Bank to distribute food to the neighbors within the Batesville Community School Corporation in need of food assistance. As a Gleaners partner, the Batesville Food Pantry receives government commodities provided by the USDA.

Throughout the years, the mission of the Batesville Food Pantry has remained consistent - to alleviate hunger in our community.
