The Food Pantry is dedicated to serving Batesville citizens who, for a variety of reasons, have come upon hard times and do not have an income that is adequate to provide food for themselves and their family members. Our volunteers provide a welcoming setting in which our clients can be assured that they will be provided with good, nourishing food and basic toiletry items. Clients are free to visit on a monthly basis on Wednesday from 12:00 to 4:00 pm.

The Batesville Area Ministerial Association is a fellowship of churches seeking to serve the entire Batesville community, regardless of denomination.  The Association combines efforts to staff the food pantry with volunteers from each participating church. It also provides emergency funds for local needs.

Our goal is to alleviate hunger.  We are aware that each and every one of us is only one pink slip or medical catastrophe away from being in the shoes that walk through our doors every week.  We are grateful that the pantry is so well supported by the town of Batesville.  Won't you help too?  All donations are tax deductible in accordance with IRS regulations. Batesville Area Ministerial Association Food Pantry is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

2010 $1 Million Giveaway to Fight Hunger

The Batesville Area Ministerial Association Food Pantry received a check from the Feinstein Foundation for $306 as our share of the $1 Million Giveaway Challenge to Fight Hunger.  Mr. Feinstein included a letter to all of the recipients with the following information:

  • The grand total raised from the challenge this year was $230 Million.
  • There were over 1,750 participating anti-hunger agencies nationwide who responded to the challenge this year.
  • Because of the ever increasing participation in this challenge each participant's portion of the $1 Million is, of course, proportionally very small.  But the real value is as a spur to each Food Pantry to spur greater donations. We definitely collect a lot more in the way of food and financial donations as a direct result of this wonderful challenge.

Mr. Alan Shawn Feinstein is certainly to be commended for his continued unselfish concern for the needs of others and countless needy citizens have benefited directly from this very creative way to get others involved in his anti hunger campaign.
